An Alkaloid obtained from the fruit of Cocculus indicus

Common Name: Picrotoxin, Cocculin  

Causes & Symptoms for Picrotoxinum

• Attacks of tetanic spasms, convulsions with loss of cosciousness.
• Nausea with tendency to faint, complaints of hernia is an indication for this remedy.
• For violent intestinal pain and purging, night sweats.
• Excessive secretion of urine, cramps and weak sensations in extremities.
• Skin infections, tinea capitis is relieved with Picrotoxinum.

Mind and Head

Sadness with sleeplessness is relieved with Picrotoxinum.

Headache with nausea.

Stomach and abdomen

Fainting, violent sub acute irritation of intestinal lining membrane.

Soreness in left inguinal ring as if bowels would protrude indicates Picrotoxinum.

Stool and Anus

Pain in the bowels and sensation as if the bowels would protrude at left inguinal ring.

Urinary complaints

Large quantity of clear urine passes.

Generalities

Lower limbs feel bruised and paralysed, have a tendency to draw back with the back, giving great better to limbs.

Side effects of Picrotoxinum

There are no such side effects. But every medicine should be taken following the rules as given.

Dosage and rules while taking Picrotoxinum

Take 5 drops in half cup of water three times a day.

You can also medicate the globules and take 3 times a day or as prescribed by the physician.

Precautions while taking Picrotoxinum

Always keep a gap of 15 minutes before or after meals when you take medicine.
