Skin Condition
A skin condition is any medical problem that affects the skin, the body's largest organ. There are many different skin conditions, ranging from mild and temporary to severe and chronic. Some common skin conditions include:
Acne is a common skin condition that causes pimples on the face, back, and chest. It is caused by clogged pores, excess oil production, and inflammation.
Eczema: A chronic inflammatory skin condition that causes dry, itchy, and red skin. It is often worse in flexural areas, such as the elbows and knees.
Psoriasis: A chronic autoimmune disease that causes scaly, red, and itchy patches of skin to form. It can affect any part of the body, but it most commonly appears on the elbows, knees, scalp, and lower back.
Rosacea: A chronic skin condition that causes redness, swelling, and visible blood vessels on the face. It can also cause pimples and blemishes.
Melanoma: The most severe type of skin cancer. It arises from pigment-producing cells (melanocytes) in the skin. Melanoma can spread to other parts of the body if it is not diagnosed and treated early.
