Description

Rice Kheer

Rice Kheer is a traditional Indian dessert made with rice, milk, and sugar, often flavored with cardamom and garnished with nuts like almonds and cashews. It's a rich and creamy dish commonly served during festivals and special occasions. Its soothing texture and delightful sweetness make it a favorite among all ages.

Key Features

Rich, creamy, and flavorful dessert
Easy to prepare with simple ingredients
Perfect for special occasions and festivals
Comforting and indulgent treat

Key Ingredients

Rice
Full-fat milk
Sugar
Cardamom powder
Chopped almonds and cashews
Saffron (optional, for added fragrance and color)

Tips

For a richer taste, use whole milk or a mix of whole milk and condensed milk.
Soak the rice for 30 minutes before cooking for a smoother texture.
To enhance flavor, add a pinch of saffron or rose water towards the end of cooking.
Serve chilled or warm, depending on your preference.

Shelf Life

Rice Kheer can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 2-3 days. Make sure to cover it well to prevent it from absorbing any other odors. If the consistency thickens over time, you can add a little milk while reheating to bring it back to its creamy texture.
